FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – 08/01/18
Toronto, ON: Today, Toronto’s Agency59 Response has undergone a complete rebrand in order to celebrate the agency it has become. Announcing Junction59, the new name and identity of this fully integrated, data-driven advertising agency.
“Like any good agency, we’ve evolved,” says Marc Cooper, President and Partner. “This isn’t the beginning of something entirely new. Or the end of something old. It’s a transformation.”
Marc goes on to explain that the transformation is in the what, not the how. “Our services have changed since the days of offering only direct response, but the way we service our clients remains the same. Over-delivering and exceeding expectations. It’s a simple formula that’s always worked, so why change it?”
When Agency59 Response realized they had outgrown their service offering as well as their physical space (headquartered at Yonge and Davisville since the 80s), they jumped at the chance to shake things up.
Junction59 was created and is now located on Sterling Road, sharing two floors of the newly-renovated Auto Building with the agencies it collaborates with: Agency59 (for brand advertising), and Candela (for not-for-profit strategy and creative).
Their new space is just a few floors above the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), and includes everything from a boardroom-slash-pool-table, to a video production studio – which is sure to please more than a few employees and visiting clients.
So why the name ‘Junction’?
Curtis Wolowich, Executive Creative Director, explains: “The fact is, when coming up with ideas, everyone has a unique point of view that they bring to the table. Creatively, a collision of ideas is always a good thing. The key is to avoid confusion and to try to find the sweet spot where all those points of view intersect. That’s why we always encourage open debate, discussions, and yes, even disagreements.”
“And with our move to the west end of Toronto, what better way to describe that intersection of ideas and points of view than with the word ‘Junction’. Holding on to the ‘59’ was just our way of marrying the best of the old with the new.”
