In the wake of COVID-19, our behaviours have changed and businesses will need to adapt. One example is how we consume food.
As people have been buying more groceries and cooking at home, restaurants will have to find innovative ways to bring customers back to their establishments.
To that end, Toronto may soon see its first zero-contact restaurant experience, by way of Box’d Paramount.
Customers can place their orders via the mobile app or through one of their in-store kiosks. While these features already exist, the unique part is their pick-up feature. The restaurant plans to include ‘digital cubbies’ where people can find and take their order when it’s ready.
It’s unclear whether or not these digital cubbies will be hands-free and automated or not, but in a world where social distancing is crucial, we may see more of this in the future.
